Toy Review: Super Robot Chogokin Dekaranger Robo

Bandai and Tamashii Nations should be proud of their recent baby the SRC Dekaranger Robo. Many toy aficionados who are both into Super Sentais and Kamen Riders (like me) missed this because previous releases didn't offer that much. Dekaranger made a mark and launched SRCs to a new height. I totally recommend this if DX Robos are not your cup of tea - when you need a robo that is more poseable and dynamic.

The sculpt of this figure is downright amazing. There are great paint applications and the details are a match to the DX version, probably even better.  Its joints are very poseable which is comparable to my Voyager Class TF Animated Optimus Prime. In addition, these are extra hinges on the arms and legs to maximize its action potential. One hiccup would be that the SPD Riot Shield may get in the way and even if there are swivel points, I'm quite certain that this will loosen over time.

Dekaranger Robo has a lot of accessories but a part of it is in preparation for the SRC Gokai Oh. The set for Gokai Oh includes the gatling guns for the arms and legs and the Patstriker that separates to form Gokai Oh's hand guns.

Other accessories would be a pair of handcuffs which I don't see a lot of use for it. The pistol is molded on silver paint and the tips are colored like a traffic light. An effect part is included for the gun but looks odd when combined with the pistol.  Moreover, Dekaranger Robo has a sword and sheathed version for the arm.

When the extra accessories are plug into Gokai Oh, it looks ok but the chest piece looks tag bit small if you want to compare it with the show. Its small guns are the worst accessory for Gokai Oh and looks like two squirt guns instead of a pair of twin firepower. To add, since Gokai Oh hands do not bend, holding these guns are really off to look at.

The Boost Effect thankfully was included on my purchase. I like these as these were not specifically made for any SRC. Heck I was even to use these on several occasions for my SHFs, SIC and my other small figures.

Even without the effect parts, Dekaranger Robo is top of its class (so far). Articulation can be compared to my humanoid figures. A very solid creation indeed.

I see there is this sword effect part you used in your pictures. Does it come bundled with the Boost Effect parts set?
