As first sailor warrior to come out of the S.H. Figuarts line, Sailormoon uses her sailor anime-ish outfit with all of the details seen in the manga and anime series. Sailormoon’s additional highlights are her, choker with a golden crescent moon on it, the signature knee-length hair, tiara on her forehead and the bows on her chest and on her back. Out of the box, our princess’ default uses open spliced hands.
The first edition release had five extra face replacements, its bonus parts are the crying and the winking face sculpts. It would be a tedious task at first to do the face swapping as the plastic hardens that holds her bangs on her forehead. This is also true on the default face part. But once you have managed to remove, replacing with new parts is easier. Other accessories include 8 hands, one of which is the Moon Tiara Action effect part to match her head without the head band, 2 kinds of moon sticks with one that has the Silver Crystal and her guardian cat, Luna. Finally part of this set is a heart-shaped tamashii stage with her name printed in pink.
How beautiful she is from a far, some parts would not go unnoticed on my nitpicking. Sure Sailormoon has an accurate mold to match the 20th anniversary bandana but there are some inconsistencies that I can see such as the disparity of her bangs to the head mold and the red acrylic paint looks more pinkish. It is a painful task to pose the figure because of the small feet. Finally to point out is that the figure feels flimsy, the peg that hold the bow at the back seems too weak, the joints are smaller that of Bandai’s Armored Girls Project. I’d still recommend this to any Sailormoon fans but with a cautionary warning when you play with the figure.
